Anshu Jamsenpa: A Woman of Indomitable Spirit

Anshu Jamsenpa, a 32 year old mother of two and a mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh, India, created a history on 21 May 2017 by becoming the first woman to scale Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world {8848-metre (29028 feet)}, twice in a span of five days. This ascent was her fifth overall and the second after 16 May 2017. Wow…what an extraordinary achievement. She has also had the distinction of conquering the Mount Everest earlier in 2011 when she scaled the peak twice within a span of 10 days and again in 2013. What a remarkable feat of courage and determination… She displays tremendous resolve, passion, perseverance and strength of character.
